TVB 42nd Anniversary Awards [My Awards]
This is just a short review on the awards, who I think should win and etc. My final decision? LOL. Enjoy reading~Best Actor: Wayne Lai
Wayne is definitely winning this award. His acting is awesome In Rosy Business. After getting Best Supporting Actor Award last year, Wayne gets a good role to play, which is "Chai Gau" from Rosy Business. Or should I say this acting from The Gentle Crackdown II? Anyway, this role is a breakthrough role for Wayne to show off his acting skills. His acting is actually quite good already, he just didn't get the chance to get a good role and to show his acting. Now finally it's Wayne's turn to get this award. I think he deserves this award. Last year's best supporting awards to Wayne and Tavia, this year they both have a very high chance of getting the best actor/actress award. But I think Tavia won't get it probably.
Best Actress: Sheren Tang
Even though I think "good" roles usually don't shine much but Sheren absoutely did. Her role in Rosy Business is totally different from those "good" roles.
Even though I recon Tavia and Charmaine has a very high chance in winning too, I think TVB will give this award to Sheren. As for Charmaine, if she does get an award, it'll be for Lam Miu Miu, not Lau Sam Ho. Lau Sam Ho's character is just normal "good" character, nothing special to me. While Lam Miu Miu's character is totally different from Charmaine's usual roles. It's way more interesting watching Lam Miu Miu than Lam Sam Ho. And for Tavia. It's her first villian role. And I think she has played very well in her first villian role. Though I haven't seen much of her evilness but I can tell it's quite good. I've seen many evil roles but Tavia's one is just very... EVIL?! Her eyes and stuff, I can't explain but yea... She deserves this award too but I think TVB would give it to Sheren probably?
Best Supporting Actor: Michael Tse (Laughing Gor)
After watching E.U, everyone knows about Laughing Gor, even those who haven't watched knows him. Micheal's character in E.U is a shock to everyone when they revealed that Laughing is actually a undercover cop. The plot and his acting was very good that they even decided to make a prequel (I've watched it, soon I will post a review on it but so many posts I haven't finished posting...) Michael totally stole the spotlight in E.U. It's not just that Laughing's character is actually a UC (undercover cop) but himself in the story is a very funny person which entertains the audience. So I think this award is defintley going to Laughing Gor. I think Ron is a second choice, his acting has improved a lot in both RB and E.U. Everyone can see it.
Best Supporting Actress: Susan Tse? Selena Li?
I can't excatly decide this really. Susan's role in Rosy Business and Beyond The Realm Of Conscience was great. And everyone knows that I'm a Selena fan right? I haven't watched scenes with Selena yet but many people say she's very bitchy in there O.o Can't wait to watch. It seems Selena's acting is very good in there too. Personally I hope Selena would win but I doubt she would. It'd probably be Susan. Hate the fact that she's not nominated in Most Improved.
Most Favorite Male Character: Dayo Wong
Dayo's acting in You're Hired was good. Even Best Actor is between him or Wayne but I say Wayne for Best Actor and Dayo for Most Favorite. Dayo is very funny in You're Hired, It's one of the best series this year that entertained us. He's a good comedian. His popularity risen after airing this series. His other series are comedy too but this one in particular is more funny and interesting to watch I guess...?!
Most Favorite Female Character: Charmaine Sheh
I dunno why I choose Charmaine but others like Tavia also deserve this but I think this award would probably go to Charmaine from You're Hired.. not Beyond.
Most Improved Actor: Pierre Ngo
I think Johnson Lee, Pierre Ngo and Raymond Wong all three have chances in winning this award. But I think Pierre would win this year, his selfish, evil role in Rosy Business shone, while the other two's roles aren't very breakthrough like Pierre's. Most of Raymond's character are quite big actually. Johnson Lee's characters are too small this year like Stew, so uninteresting roles. Roles that can get him to win is probably like BT from Catch Me Now but unfortunately, he didn't win last year.
Most Improved Actress: Sharon Chan
Nominated people are Queenie Chu, Koni Lui, Catherine Chow, Sharon Chan and Aimee Chan. Like when I first saw the nominations I was like shocked... firstly I can't believe Selena isn't in the category, secondly I can't believe they have this Catherine Chow in it, don't even know her... and thirdly that everyone nominated in here are like so... UN-improved. I never thought they were gonna be in the list!! I thought people like Natalie Tong, Toby Leung, Mandy Cho, Macy Chan and etc would be on the list! O.o Sigh, nvm, back to the point. I hope Sharon can win this award, she totally deserves it after entering TVB so much longer than everyone else nominated. They better not give it to Aimme coz it seems like TVB is going to...
Best Drama: Beyond The Realm Of Conscience
I know I haven't finished watching this series but I think it'd probably be the one winning. Others like Rosy Business, You're Hired, Born Rich also have chances, especially Rosy Business. But I bet TVB would give this award to BTROC. Isn't that practically why they're delaying the awards... lol. But you have to admit, the drama isn't bad, its quite interesting and entertaining to watch.
